Short-break respite and community-based care for children and young people. This service is both CQC and Ofsted regulated — so families get a safe, inspected break, not an informal babysitting arrangement.
Respite gives parents and carers a planned break. Community care supports the child in everyday settings — home, clubs, appointments, and activities — with trained staff.
Children’s respite and community care sit under both adult/community care regulation and children’s standards, as appropriate to the package.
Regular or one-off sessions so families can rest, work, or spend time with siblings.
Support to join activities, appointments, and local life rather than staying indoors all day.
Sessions are planned with the family and, where appropriate, the child’s social worker.
Respite and community care are different from our Ofsted children’s home and from adult visiting care.
Short-term or sessional support so the child stays with family in the longer term. CQC and Ofsted regulated.
Full-time residential placement at Sida House. See our Children’s Home page.
Visiting care for adults in their own home. See Domiciliary Care.
